Welcome to another season of wrestling with Baker Mat Club. At Baker Mat Club we focus on improving each and every one of our wrestlers, because all of your kids are worth it! Wrestling is an individual sport in a team atmosphere. We rely on our teammates to work hard and help us improve. That camaraderie is something that will last a lifetime!!!

Registration is $85 with a family cap of $170. So any families beyond 2 wrestlers, we cover the rest! That registration fee gets your wrestler an ORWAY Wrestling Card and team shirt and shorts. If you would like to purchase a singlet we do have new ones in stock for $60 a singlet, or you could also see if someone else has a used singlet available. Any used singlet that the club has is $20 and you guys can feel free to trade out with others if needed! We will pay/credit you $20 for any Baker Mat Club Singlet that you return.

Additionally $5 of every registration goes to Abel's Army, which is a foundation setup by one of our very own Baker Mat Club Members to spread awareness on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy! We at Baker Mat Club are all a part of Abel's Army!

This season we will be practicing at the Catholic Church Gym (Old Y Gym) at 2235 1st Street, Baker City, OR 97814. Starting out our 1st day of practice will be Oct. 20th and we will practice the 21st , and the 22nd that week. Practices will run from 5-6:30pm. Some age groups may be subject to change.

After that we will be every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5-6:30 pm. Weighins for tournaments will be held on Tuesdays after practice. Each entry fee/registration is $10 except for Regionals, which is $20. Please bring your $10 cash to practice, where we will collect it there. Then we send a check for the exact amount of wrestlers that were registered to the tournament on Saturday.

If a wrestler is unable to attend a tournament after they registered for the tournament, there is no refund. We have to pay for whatever we registered for, so once we send off our roster for that week we are locked into paying that. If you are unable to attend, it definitely helps to let your wrestler's Coach or Brandon Young know so that can get passed onto the tournament director and they can make adjustments to the bracket.

Returning Coaches: please make sure all your classes, background check, etc. are up to date. ORWAY will be requiring a Coaches Card and Photo ID at all tournaments this year in order to get a floor pass so that you can coach. Message from ORWAY: "Current 2026-27 coach cards are required at all ORWAY tournaments, even the first weekend. Please get your coaches on that ASAP. Some will need new background checks and we know from experience those can take a while."

New Coaches: Please contact Brandon Young and he will get you lined up on the process to become a coach. 1st Step would be to fill out the volunteer coaches application.

We attempted to move our tournament date, but due to a lack of organization from other entities & to simplify things we will be at Baker Middle School on Dec. 12th. There is another tournament that Sunday in Othello, WA, so we do not expect to get over run like we did a few years ago! It takes quite a bit to put on a local tournament and we will need everyone's help to run a quality event.
